Raghuttama Rao is Chairman of IMaCS Virtus Global Partners and Managing Director of ICRA Management Consulting Services (IMaCS). He brings more than 20 years of management consulting and financial advisory experience serving corporate, infrastructure, multilateral, and banking clients across a wide variety of engagements. Mr. Rao has been a member of ICRA’s start up team and has contributed significantly to building several of ICRA’s businesses such as credit rating, research, and consulting. He has spearheaded several engagements for World Bank, ADB, and other multilateral agencies in the areas of regulatory reform and development strategy and has implemented risk management systems for banks and financial institutions in several countries in South Asia, Middle East, and Africa. Mr. Rao has advised governments, industry associations and companies on improving competitiveness and helped local / multinational companies in restructuring and M&A.
Mr. Rao is active in several industry forums in India at a national and state level. He holds key positions as (a) President of the Madras Management Association (India’s oldest Management Association) (b) Chairman of the Committee on Banking, Finance & Insurance - Madras Chamber of Commerce (India’s oldest Chamber of Commerce); (c) Member of the several National level Committees at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – including Infrastructure, Water, Rural Development and Real Estate (d) Member of Committee on Banking & Financial Standards at Bureau of Indian Standards.
Mr. Rao's educational qualifications are: Fulbright Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA; Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; Cost & Management Accounting from Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India; and Bachelor of Technology (Mechanical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. |
